Message that Optima doesn't have the best CCA or reserve capacity or deep-discharge resilience... etc. Fine. I myself am on my 2ND red top (first one lasted 5 years, with abuse), so I am well aware they don't last forever.
How did you abuse your battery? Did you punish it when it wouldn't call you "Master"?

But, I personally like the fact that it keeps the engine bay *clean*--> the posts don't corrode (ever), it'll never leak (supposedly even if you crack the case, or so they claim), and it outgases very little, if at all.

And IF you happen care at all how your engine bay looks asthetically, IMO the sealed low-maintenance batteries (like the Optima red & yellow tops) will always LOOK nicer than conventional car batteries. IMO. :)
You are very mislead on the purpose of this car.
