#6 piston. Piston #5 was worn, but not nearly as bad as #6. Everything else in the engine looked fine. My mechanic even noted that the cylinder bore hone looked like a low mileage engine. In your opinions, what could have caused this wear and how much time do you estimate I had before catastrophic failure? Also, do you all think this could have possibly damaged the rod? This engine was ticking like a hyperactive clock before it was torn down.
