Message The bigger the bore the closer to the head stud/bolt holes so you will get more deflection. Also with the VG30 being a closed deck cast iron block it isn't as necessary to use the torque plate as it is on say a VQ35 open deck aluminum block.

When I say it isn't as necessary I mean that you can bore and hone the VG30 block without a torque plate and probably not have problems BUT I think it definitely helps when going over a .020 or 87.5mm bore.
