Message I can vouch for the backflush part. When I first bought my car I was amazed at how much debris was in the condensor, between the condensor and radiator, and then in the oem radiator. Since then I've replaced the oem rad with a Koyo and have had it out for various reasons over the past couple years. Sometimes within a few months of the last removal and each time I would make it a point to wash out the condensor and radiator. Each time There was always a bunch of dirt, bugs, and crap flowing from the condensor.

Given my Z is a DD and since just about every road in the state of FL is under construction it gets more debris exposure than most.

I think one important thing that wasn't mentioned that has beneficial effects is the porting of the cooling galleys when the engine is out for overhaul. Not everyones engine will see an overhaul but for those that do this should be a required component to the rebuild process.

Since we're on the subject of summer heat and there's been some mention of the electric fan I'd like to throw in my .02.
I have the 4k cfm Ashspec electric fan set-up with the thermatic controller and drive my Z 140 miles a day 5 days a week in Central FL. Since I've had the electric fan I've been driving in daily temps not less than 90 and on average it's been 93 and high humidity, its FL. I drive to work during the hottest part of the day and average 80mph with the a/c on. My gauge stays in the middle right where it always has and I've confirmed the engine gauge is good. I've run it hard right up to the door at work and used a Raytek "laser" pyrometer to spot check the entire cooling system and pin point check just about anywhere on the engine that a laser can point to. It just doesn't run hot. Even after driving for 1 hour 15 minutes and then hauling ass down the road to the hanger.

I probably wouldn't be wrong if I guessed that I've probably drivin more miles than anyone with the Ashspec electric set-up. It works fine and I'm totally pleased with its performance thus far. That being said though I also know my cooling system is maintained properly and not impeded by clogged heat exchangers. I also know that I'll be performing a backflush within this month for maintenance reasons due to the extended dry conditions here and the amount of dirt I've seen blowing around the roads here due to road construction and maintenance.
