as many things as there are to admire about any Z, the uas/appolo/greddy style frontmounts are an abomination plain and simple.
Is it your z? No. Does the front mount flow more air and cool more air than the stock side mounts? Yes. So why all the drama?
what drama? btw those frontmounts flow marginally better than stock. however every other aftermarket sidemount available flows more(yes Hks,greddy, stillen etc all flow more than horizontal fmics). Also the marginal gain in flow does not make up for the fact that the design of these horizontal fmics are pure shit. The top half of that intercooler receives less ambient flow than the bottom half. this means the top half (which represents one side of your engine) is running hotter than the bottom half.
And on top of all that it crosses over your intakes so the engine is no longer crossbalancing(which takes us back to the "design is pure shit" part of this post It is his car let him modify to his taste. If you guys would like to pay for the mods I am sure he would allow you to design the best way you see fit.
:By the way NatezTT, best looking black Z I have seen in a long time. it seems to me Bernie was doing him a favor by suggesting things that would affect the performance of his Z in a positive manner. Im not quite sure how jealously has played any part in his reply.
