being Nylon 6/6, they would only start melting in the upper 400°F range (around 480 or so), if you were reaching anything close to those temps on the hood, the paint would have started bubbling long ago. What I'm trying to say is: Do what we all do, and disregard Spee and any of his comments not relating directly to wrenching on a Z32. :)
