| Or rather with Joe Blow racer, not Mr. Pro Race Team that uses suspension on tubbed cars to compensate for other shortcomings. I am aware of BFG's little ad in the magazines about that Mustang that ran in the 7s but what did that car run on slicks after they took them off? :) That being said, we've had dozens upon dozens of people try them at the track out here and for whatever reason, they do not stick as well as MTs of any fashion. I can't tell you how many times over many years I've watched people new to drag racing start out with BFGs and switch to MTs or something else down the road. I can only offer speculation as to the difference in performance. Is it at all possible that the ultra quick cars you mentioned running BFGs were not manuals (no high RPM cluth drops)? Or perhaps they have much more linear power (naturally aspirated) as opposed to huge increases in power mid-gear like big turbo cars? I'm sure there's more I'm not even touching on but, that's about all I can think of because those two factors make a huge difference. We've tried all kinds of pressures, tracks, etc and the BFGs just don't hold a candle to ET Streets. That's my experience anyway and all I can offer. I'd be more than willing to change my stance on them a bit if you can show me some 10-second Zs that run them regularly. Do we have anyone here like that?
