I'm working on getting my engine back into tiptop shape and I'm in need of a little help. I'm a complete noob when it comes to engine work but I am learning and have searched and found all the info I've needed up to this point. I got my engine out and onto an engine stand yesterday. Upto this point the work has only really required some common-sense and the abilitly to turn a wrench. Now that the engine is out, I have the daunting task of figuring out what will need to be replaced and fixed. If anybody could give me some pointers and insight on the proper way to disassemble the engine and what I should look for as I do so. I've read the reassembly faq and I may have to use that in reverse order to get the engine disassembled but I really don't know what to look for when I am in the process. For now, I have an OEM gasket kit and I plan on an EGR delete. Anything else you guys suggest doing while the engine is out? Thanks alot.
