| And it broke off the front section of the support craddle. It also broke a big chunk out of the side of the block.
Anyway, what happened was the previous owner was a dickweed. He was running 16 psi on what was then a Stage III Z with three bad injectors. All of the pistons on the passenger bank had pits blasted into them from detonation. I didn't find out about that until after I bought it. Anyway, it ran good enough when I test drove it, there was a slight ticking coming from the engine but since it was a bit low on oil and the seemed like it was coming from the cylinder head I figured it was the lifters. I even added some oil for the second test drive and the sound almost went away. Then, 18 miles into the drive home, that happened. From what I can tell, one of the bolts on the bottom of the number one rod had started coming loose, apparently that was the ticking noise. I can see where the last few threads where stripped off bolt, after fishing it out of the shrapnel in the oil pan of course.
