Message :My guess is the so called "secondary maps" are written in the Eprom, why else would Ash be advertising his chips and state clearly that they have another set of maps if they exist within the original ECM to start with?

I can't answer for the reason why Ash would advertise the secondary map, since it's a factory feature. Ash could write a substantially leaner primary fuel map (which would save fuel), and still have a much richer "knock" fuel map for times when you've filled up with shitty gas, or put the wrong temperature range plugs in, or happen to mat the gas pedal going up a hill in 5th gear. Of course, in those instances, you'll go to safety boost immediately.

:And the injector question is a valid one and needs to be answered, hopefully someone with more knowledge can answer

Pulsewidth for injectors is calculated based on a number of items, all of which reside in the EPROM: 1) Throttle position, 2) engine RPM, 3) injector flow, 4) injector latency, and 5) whether that particular cell in the map allows the ECU to take into account input from the MAF and O2 sensor or not.

Your powers are useless! I'm wearing my tinfoil underwear!
