The JWT EPROM primary fuel maps are even richer than the stock knock fuel maps (which are quite rich to begin with). The JWT EPROM operates in open loop mode more (static calculations of injector pulsewidth based on TPS and engine RPM, not based on input from the O2 sensors or MAF). The JWT EPROM tune's primary fuel map is adequately safe (read "rich") from the get go, which is why the secondary (or "knock") fuel map can be the same without risk. Also, the JWT EPROM is engineered as a "package deal", so it's actually pretty unlikely for the engine to experience knock when managed by the JWT EPROM parameters, given proper maintenance (and not being a dumbass and putting crap-tastic plugs in, like me :p ).
