Dyno Results: Built Motor, GT2530s, Tuned by Import Parts Pro Well, after 184,000-plus miles of hammering on the stock pistons and rods, it was time to build the motor. Seems the #6 piston, as is usually the case, lost compression. I had Pat Peck Nissan of Mobile, AL, pull and reinstall the motor, and Kyle at Import Parts Pro build, tweak, and tune it after the break-in. I already had the HKS GT2530 turbos, Greg D.'s Inconel manifolds, 720cc injectors, AVC-r and AFC, and JUN cams with ported head and all the accompaniments. I chose to go with Wiseco 8.8:1 89mm pistons, Eagle rods, Cometic metal head gaskets, ARP Head and Main Studs and all the usual and necessary: block oil passages cleaned, block redecked, new rod and main bearings (ceramic coated), and fully balanced and blueprinted. At the same time, I had some additional goodies installed: Leader 4.10 gears, Innovate AFR gauge with wide-band O2 sensor, Westach dual oil temperature and pressure gauge, and Westach fuel pressure gauge, all in either my "Got Rice?" overdash gauge pod or a 300 degree DIN gauge panel. Finally, I had a nice big red button installed beside the clock for a scramble boost switch. Pat Peck Nissan in Mobile did an efficient and thorough job, with a fair deal and impressive level of courtesy and attention. I will be returning to them for more work and assistance in the future. It helps that a twinturbo.net member works there (Ray Stiles, CrayZ300), and he is as obsessive as most of us on the forum. He is the organizer of the annual Z Day at Pat Peck. I took the car over on a Monday afternoon from here in Pensacola to Mobile, and on that Saturday left early in my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee, picked up a U-Haul trailer in Mobile, went to Pat Peck and picked up the motor, and drove it to Import Parts Pro in Houston. Kyle tore the motor and found the cause of the problem - the pic is noted below. He was his usual efficient, virtually obsessive, self in building it back up, and had it ready from delivery to pick up, even with the full tear-down, in four weeks. I don't think he pays himself enough to put up with the questions, concerns, and my own OCD tendencies on this car. I drove back to Houston and picked up the motor, using a U-Haul trailer again, and returned to Pensacola. That Monday morning, I drove it to Pat Peck and they unloaded it. I was able to pick the car up on Thursday afternoon. After about two weeks to hit a thousand miles and break the car in, Kyle traveled to Pensacola to finish the gauge installations, and check the car over before going to the dyno. He was himself impressed and satisfied with the install by Pat Peck. Last Saturday we took the car to XXX Motorsports here in Pensacola, for tuning on their DynoJet dyno. Kyle/Import Parts Pro, certainly has the touch - to make a long story short, with conservative AFR tuning, the car hit 494 RWHP with 459 TQ on pump gas with 18 lbs boost and 18 degrees timing, and 603 RWHP with 531 TQ, with 25 lbs boost and 21 degrees timing on 103 octane. With the 4.10 rear end, I have it turned down to 16 lbs of boost normally, but, if I *need* it, I hit the button, and have 18 lbs. Nice little kicker when needed. As always, I cannot say enough about Kyle's (Import Parts Pro) attention to detail, skill, and genuine talent in building my motor. Complete professionalism, and very fair pricing.
