I completely agree with this statement, but boycotting EM gas stations is just not going to solve the problem. You would need to cut the entire demand, not just demand at one outlet.

Think of it like water being drawn to a pump (gas-consuming public) through a bunch of pipes (individual stations) from a big reservoir (oil refiners/suppliers). You can plug up a handful of pipes, but the pump still draws the same amount of water. It just has to draw more water from the other pipes, which puts a strain on the pipes to deliver enough water and a strain on the pump to pull enough water through less pipes. This doesn't put a strain on the reservoir.
