I think everyone here (even the ones tearing me a new one) would agree that running more octane than your car needs is a waste of money and gives you nothing in return. Off the shelf octane boosters are not much help either. Most say they raise your octane level "several points". while this is true, many people think it raises it from 87 to 89 when it really raises it from 87 to 87.2. Not much of a help. Do some internet searching on it. Octane does nothing directly to improve performance. It just helps ward off the by product (knock) of other performance enhancers (boost, timing, etc.)
