Want to share with you all my experience tonight that drove into my mind the amazing performance of these cars. I was getting off the Bay bridge heading east, minding my own business, when I noticed lights flashing in my rear-view mirror.

Keep in mind that although I have a 1993 TT, it's all stock. My Z needs a little work, in fact I recently found a small leak in the brakes master cyl. But it's running well and it's in overall good condition.

I can tell, because it's dusk, that it's a Porsche in my mirror, maybe a Boxter. It had those blue lights which made it easy to distinguish from other cars.

Getting of the bridge there are usually lots of cars and not much space. But this guy is right on my rear! I must have passed him earlier because he seemed mad.

I tried to let him by; there was ample space a few times and I even changed lanes. But he was following me really close. So, I felt like I had no choice.

Mind you that I've had the regular kills we've all had a chance to experience -- the Hondas with oversized exhausts -- or the lowered Mistsubishi Eclipse that tries makes the mistake of challenging any Z32. I've never posted because those are so easy and too pathetic, even, to mention.

So as the freeway widens and a space opens up, after moving from lane to lane, sliding between other drives, he's still on by butt. Finally a lane opens up, so I lowered it into 4th going about 70 and hit it.

Wow! At around 100 I see the blue lights but he's way behind. So I keep it up and have to pass a car eventually. Then I've passed my intended exit. I normally wouldn't go out of my way, but apparently he went out of his way as I'll go on to describe:

Feeling pretty satisified with the rush, I take the next exit and get to a light. But he must have seen me from a distance. I'm waiting at the light for a minute, planning to turn around and get back on the freeway in the opposite direction when he pulls in behind me.

Fine, let's do it again! So I take the sharp left which has a curved lane turning into an upwards-left onramp back onto the freeway. In third gear, I hit it and go up to almost redline and shift to 4th and... eventually I'm weaving around other cars -- a bit risky -- and hit 120 he's nowDBD::ODBC::db prepare failed: (DBD: st_prepare/SQLAllocStmt err=-2) at incl_db.pm line 312.

here to be seen and ... dusted him again.

The blue lights faded away and couldn't see them anymore. So I pass the exit I wanted again.... and get off at another exit.... this is when I realize the brakes on these cars suck.

I can't understand why Nissan designers, making such a powerful and amazing turbocharged beast, would put crappy brakes on it. Maybe I have a problem that I'm not aware of because I could barely reach a stop at the light. I had the brakes down as hard as I could and the momentum was almost too much. But I did stop, barely. At this point I smelled an acrid smell -- maybe someone can tell me if this is normal -- but the Porsche is gone.

I turned around and headed home slowly and safely. Got out of the car and the rims were too hot to touch. Guess it's time for an upgrade.

Anyway the other guy must have been a terrible driver or if it was a Boxter, which I'm guessing it was--- maybe it was automatic. Anyway I'm disappointed with those cars. I respect high end Porsches, the turbos especially are amazing -- but can't believe someone would get a Boxter and expect to race it against a TT. I guess they know better now.
