| I got the Z all buttoned up after a plethora of upgrades. I will be doing a maglito-sized post sometime in the near future, but I'll cut to the chase. After bolting up the rear end and getting the DS and exhaust installed back on, I decided to go out for a 10-15 mile jaunt for the break-in of the leadergears. The instructions from richmond say to go 10 miles or so and let it cool off, repeat a few times. It happened to be raining at the time, but I'm headed out of town for a week or so starting tomorrow, so I wanted to get just a tad of seat time in, bad idea I am just tooling around out in the country, cant get on it at all because of the inclement weather. I get roughly up to 60mph on the newly paved 2-lane highways. I am approximately 2 miles from getting back home from the initial break-in and i go over this little hump in the road. This is where all hell breaks loose..... The car hydroplanes and the ass-end gradually starts to slide out from under me. By this time i've picked up on whats going on and start to react. The rear end starts to go right so I have my hand on the e-brake, other hand on the wheel, and foot on the brake. Its really hard to describe what happens next because it all happened so fast I dont really remember it. I do remember the car sliding hard left and hard right several times, and when I decided it had slowed down enough, i ripped the ebrake as hard as i could and spun it around. I ended up doing a 270 and facing the opposing traffice (there was none however, 2:30AM, country) Somehow I managed to hydroplan/spin out for a few hundred feet and not incur one bit of damage. I was extremely shaken after the event, had the jitters for few hours afterwards. This could have been a terrible day but thank god someone was watching out for me! Be careful guys
DO IT!
