these laws (thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid flow etc etc.) are are true for a pure system as a whole.... but an intercooler alone is not the entire system. If you are talking about making more power, you also need to account for the piping length, flow patterns due to the piping, core size (depth also, not just surface area), flow characterisitics, temperature of the engine (radiaitor blocked by front mount afffects this), pressure drop due to piping length, etc etc etc....there are so many more factors than just "i got a big @SS intercooler".... people like you think more surface area = better cooling...and in a perfect theoretical enviroment you are right....but a car is never a perfect enviroment, and until you prove through extensive tests and studies, you will be continually flamed..... but then again, even with tests and studies it is very hard to recreated exact condtions for both tests, so even if you do this you will still be flamed.... hell, you'll be flamed from now on just for being you....
