The hole on the inside that the stock intake pipe connects to is only about two inches by three inches and there is two more layers of sheet metal between it and the head light. So if you were to look sheet metal from the front with the head light removed you're only going to have about one square inch of space that is straight through from the outside into the intake. So there is almost no performance gain with the sleepy eye head light. Now if you were to take a saw and cut out a big chunk of the sheet metal, say eight by three, and then put your head lights half way down, there might by a bit more of a benefit.
