More boost requires additional measures to ward off detonation. More boost only requires more fuel when you reach a 14.7 A/F, if you want to keep effeciency. We keep a richer A/F to ward off detonation. More fuel cools the mixure. When we raise the boost, we use extra fuel as a measure to fight off detonation, which prohibits us from ever reaching 14.7 A/F. When we say 15 psi is safe on stock injectors, its for pump gas, 93 octane. If you raise the boost further, you lean out the mixture too much and detonate. If your already running 100% duty cycle, you cant add more fuel to ward off detonation, but you can raise the octane of the fuel.
That being said, there is also a certain point that adding more fuel will not ward off detonation, with out causing the car to run too rich to perform. At that time, you need to consider other methods of warding off detonation such as water injection, bigger intercoolers, retarding timing, or driving in cooler air for that matter. It all boils down to how much of a safety cushion you are comfortable with.
