Message	reach a higher temperature than the plenum. The plenum gets hot from air; the calipers get hot from metal-to-metal friction to slow down 3800 pounds, even under normal conditions. Under extreme conditions, hot calipers will flake/boil/tarnish high-temp "caliper" paint. I've seen Brembo calipers (the gold ones) turn brown.
