| If you don't get the datascan program updated, then what are you going to do? As for my reasoning being absurd? I don't think presenting sound and reasonable points into the conversation is absurd. Point 1: Your present set up for measuring this parameter requires an upshift from 3rd to 4th. That introduces the very thing you're trying to remove - driver error (or variable if that sounds better). Point 2: You have differing road and weather conditions that WILL have an impact on the numbers (is the road going slightly uphill, is there a tail wind, etc.....). A dyno compensates for temp/humidity and you don't have to worry about other external factors. Point 3: Anyone who doesn't have a datascan program will resort to other means of measurement. Again, introducing error factors - the very thing you want to eliminate. Even if they don't use a stopwatch, there will be arguments over how one's data acquisition program works compared to another. I don't think I need to hammer on this anymore. I made my points, I've already chosen that this isn't something I am willing to do nor support. All I'm trying to do is point out some inconsistencies with this approach. I hope I don't read a news article about someone in a Z32 trying to do this and ends up crashing in the process.... Dave N.
