| you're not expecting people to perform this stunt on public roads. It would seem a dyno run is a much safer and consistent manner to remove variables (driver, road conditions, weather, etc....) from the equation. The mere fact that you had to upshift to 4th added in the driver error that you are trying to eliminate (yes, I read the post and I know that you are trying to get datascan reprogrammed to a lower top speed). In the absence of getting datascan reprogrammed, one could argue having someone use a stopwatch. Great...does that mean the person rides shotgun (thus adding more weight to the car)? What about human errors with accurately starting/stopping the timer? What about speedo accuracy? Please don't perpetuate this "evaluation" - it's a waste of time, it's unsafe, and has no meaning unless you're talking with your Audi friends.... Dave N.
