Message before running hard on the track. Do some more research, some places sell them pre-heat cycled and/or shaved. But, again, heat cycled or not, you should heat them up before getting into it. That's why they usually have a warm up lap.

Not to be a dick, but didn't you say you used to race? Shouldn't you know this?
