Message	I bought my Z from a guy in New Jersey (I'm in New York). I ran a carfax before buying it and it came up clean as a whistle. I bought the car and applied for a NY title. I waited and waited for the title to arrive in the mail, but instead I got a nice letter stating that the car was salvaged and it needed a special inspection before a title could be issued. I contacted the guy I bought it from and of course he denied the whole thing. This was about 8 years ago. I contacted a few lawyers and what not, but nothing ever came of it. I did some more research and it turned out that this was a common scam and it has to do with technical diffferences between the laws regarding salvage vehicles between the two states. Beware when you buy a car out-of-state.
