The guys from SCC were very good to us and we had a lot of fun. Almost all articals have some things that are not 100% correct, But overall it was close ;-)We were called at the last minute to join in the fun and we have not been road racing the car, So overall with drag radials on our car vs others with road race type tires I think we did fairly well and at least we had a ton of fun!! I think the info you might have received was what we had originally thought...... We did go faster in the drag racing at the time we were at the track testing. Aparently some of the cars did not make it out when we went and they were tested later and we were not told about the later testing. The testing for drag times was poor at best..... We did drag testing on the front straight at big willow. We could not do burn outs because we were starting at the end of a banked sweeper LOL! They have a pic in the magazine of me launching the car and you can see a spray of sand coming off the tire! I tried launching with N20 and I made 2 black marks all the way down the track.....The car never hooked up. My best run was only 11.7 without N20 and I was still spinning like crazy. Still fun and the other cars were up against the same poor conditions. We got to drive and play around on the road course, But they had one driver from the magazine drive all the cars for the track times. I tried to offer the driver some tips about the auto trans (Like the lock up switch for the convertor and the overdrive switch) But the driver blew me off and said "I will just leave it in drive". I handed the car over to the driver and set it up with 15 psi to make sure he did not kill the poor thing ;-P Well he did leave it in drive and left the overdrive off.....So going down the front straight he was running against the rev limiter at 139 MPH! It would have been nice to have been the driver and had road race tires and it would have been even nicer to go to a real drag strip, But again we were all up against the same conditions. All the other cars were stick, So the driver not knowing quite how to deal with the auto trans I am sure hurt us a little. Still all and all we held up well and it gave us a kick in the pants to get out and enjoy some road racing!!!!
