money on NA mods. They help a little, but really aren't worth the cost. I took my NA to stage 5, and realized that even though the car was faster, it wasn't enough to justify the money, or the increased noise. (headers, intake, test pipes, greddy sp) The main noise came with the exhaust, and was not worth the extra drone at highway speeds. Of course the Greddy sounds sweet on my TT! ;) I would just get the intake, and buy a 60hp wet shot. You can still get your kicks, without giving up a lot of money or compromising comfort. Forget the ECU. It helps a little, but you don't want your timing too advanced with the nitrous. Trust me when I say that all the basic bolt on mods do not compare to a 60 shot. 225-250 whp should be easily possible with just the intake and a small wet shot of nitrous, versus every mod (short of an engine build up, and porting), which will make 205-215 max at the wheels, and leave your car painfully loud...which is fun for short trips, but hanious on the highway. Even with every reasonable mod (which gets pretty expensive) and a good size shot of nitrous, you will not easily break 300 whp. If you want to make 280 hp+ (we won't even mention the torque difference) at the wheels, you will need to sell the NA and buy a TT. The swap should only be an option if your car is in almost perfect condition, and you don't think that you can find a TT in as-good or better shape. Or if you have a slick top or vert. Just my $0.02
