Hmmm... priorities. ;-) 1. Just finished up aspendog's RL Traction Control install. I'd actually done the basic install yesterday in about 3 hours (fully soldered etc), but wanted to keep the car overnight to work out an on going clutch issue (think I got it whipped now). I forgot he'd gotten the speed shift option, so I had one more wire to run this morning & do a more permanent job with the control knob etc (cut up the ashtray & got the little box mounted in there). Anyway... the TC is BAD ASS. I've *got* to get one of these things. ;-) It's the most unnatural feeling to hold the gas on the floor & just run the shifter and clutch w/ the speedshift kit. Wicked!!! Couple that w/ my subframe work-over... If only I could afford it.. which leads to: 2. Just gave myself a well deserved raise! I just landed a new job after 2 months of retirement in a tech job hostile market working for Alliance Data Systems. They handle a lot of credit card transaction systems etc. Pretty neat stuff. ;-) I'll be working as a mid level UNIX sys-admin type jobber. If anyone wants to help me out, I'm going to need it to get up to speed. My prior sys-admin stuff was probably not like this, considering I'm going from SGI to AIX... e-mail me if you know some stuff about AIX & Unisyn TNG (I think that's the naem of the monitoring software they use).. I'll have some questions! ;-) I'm starting off on at *short* contract (6 weeks) then going perm. I'm happy-'cited now! Well.. the only downside is my Z garage work will get cut *way* back. I'll have money to mod & go racing this season instead of wrenching on every Z in Dallas like I have been to make house payments. Anyway... I'm rolling out to return J's car to him, so he can drive around like a maniac w/ the TC turned on!
