Message I see you own a CR250! My heavy duty "10/10ths and beyond" racing experience is on the motocross track. The open road racing that I've done was child's play compared to maximum effort motocross, but the highest speed guys would disagree. I mention "beyond" 10/10ths because I have broken multiple bones and no longer have a spleen from multiple bad crashes. Perhaps that is how one should define a racer? By the injuries? :) Sorry, I'm geting off-topic.

Anyway, I think the answer is that it depends. One can spend a million dollars on a 300ZX and make it a world beater, but I'm not sure what you would have accomplished. It depends on the constraints. I would say that the "limit" of a car is really better defined as the "limit" of your willingness to spend money. It's a philosophical question.
