I'm not sure if I understand exactly what you are asking, but here are some thoughts: A lot of it is in the tune and the driver. For the most part, the parts and knowledge are out there, although I am sure that there are still some marginal innovations to be made. I think one of the primary concerns is to have goals. If you've got the knowledge to know how you want to set the car up, and the cash to make it so, then the parts are there and it comes down to improving your own skill. I also think that there is definitely a limit to how far you can really take the car for track purposes if you still want to keep it a practical street car. Once again, your personal goals are a key factor. If you want to go all out, there are lots of options, but the z32 may not be the most cost-efficient (or even the most efficient) platform to use to get there. In my opinion, the z32 is certainly a viable racing car though. Even though they seem to keep a low profile, Avalon Racing has done some pretty good stuff, I think.
