Message JL10W gets better as the last digit gets higher. Hence a 10W3 is not as good as a 10W6. also the 10W6 has dual 6 ohm voice coils, which turns the sub into a 3ohm sub. Gives you better quality, and better clean hard sound. But a 3ohm sub will urn your amp a lil harder then a 4 ohm sub. Because it requires more power.

As for Caps. they are measured in Farads. .5 fard is good up to 500 watts. 1 farad = 1000 watts, my 1.5 farad is good up to 1500 watts. A cap. is wired in before the amps. A caps job is to provide power to the amps when its need. Usually during a big bass boost. Otherwise w/o a cap. youll get more power during a big bass boost form your battery, which will result in diming lights etc... NO GOOD!!! you can run your 12volt + power cable from the amp and then to the cap. which has a 12+ and ground. (some have remote turn ons which go to the remote wire in the back of the deck)then you run another power cable from the + on the cap to your amps or distro. block. Its that easy!

But honestly, look into JL subs! No one will tell you nothing but the best about the 10W6. It pounds like you wouldnt believe! not to mention 1 10" is better then 2 12's for space and weight!
