You can go here and see some photos of some of the tragedy that my Z has managed to live through. Basically, the car got t-boned (relatively low speed though) by a girl who wasn't paying much attention. They prety much cut-and-welded a whole new passenger side on from the front of the door back. All in all, they did a pretty good job with that, but the guy that was working on my car seemed to have trouble paying attention to detail (and was actually fired after he finished the job on my car) and there were a ton of little problems in getting everything back together properly, half of which I finally did myself after deciding that they were almost completely incompetent at anything beyond cutting and welding. The car has never really been quite the same since (it was fairly pristine before that incident), but it's still in pretty good shape considering everything it has been through. Took about 3 months of work (2 months in the shop and 1 month of my own time and money) before the car was really back to normal. Then 5 months later that old lately pulled across traffic right in front of me and fubarred the front end. I took it to a different shop that time, and they did an absolutely amazing job. (And considering how anal retentive I am, that is really saying something.)
