Message - I don't intent to open old wounds --but I want to expand my knowledge a little -- I decided to do more research in reference to a recent post that I could not speak intelligently to

I could be wrong on this.. but looking at a compressor map in the LAZY LINK and understanding the description above - one could argue that at the same given RPM speed, if the VE has increased --- the cubic ft/min that the turbo sees has increased..but the engine RPM is the same. If that is correct, then the effect of an increase in engine VE shifts the point on the RPM line diagonally to the right.

This in theory will increase the max boost at that same RPM point assuming that the reference point in question is below the surge line - correct ???

By increasing the volumetric efficiency of a motor, this increases the wheel rotational speed ..which will generate higher turbine / compressor temps which are evidenced by higher EGT's ...

Therefore, if you desire to keep the same EGT temps, you would need to lower the boost ... whenever the VE is increase, one should expect an increase in EGT at the same RPM points ... the real question is..where is the surge line ???

am I offbase here in my understanding ?
