| - make sure you have plenty of gas to do the job. once you get 1/4 the way through, check your gas supply... keep checking it. nothing worse then blowing out quarter size hole in a perfectly good weld due to no gas. trust me. - if the tubing is thin enough, you should really use the extra argon inside... it's cheap insurance. - go slow and keep your heat down enough to prevent over heating, but not too low that you get cold welds (popcorny edges). - practice. go buy some exhaust tube and start butt welding them first... stainless will require more heat... - oh ENSURE you are using the right filler rod. nothing is better then trying to weld 321 with a 303 rod.
