| noobs/people wanting to swap: 1. No such thing as a cheap/low cost/budget swap. Always double what you plan on spending, i.e. want to do it for $3k, have $6k ready to spend 2. Double or quadrouple time you want to spend working on it. i.e. want to get it done in a week, be ready for 2-4 weeks before it's going. Don't rush, stuff will break, parts will become missing. 3. Research as much as you possibly can, have a battle plan ready. Know what steps to do before you do it, identify all parts, and know symptoms of parts not working. Make a check list and have next to you while working. 4. New wiring harness are da shit. 5. Limit the # of people that are going to help you work on the car. It will get hard to keep track of what gets done if random people come by to help, unless they are a team of mechanics that work together a lot(I myself prefer to work alone, but will have a bitch boy ready to fetch me tools or a drink). 6. Have the proper tools 7. Check, double check, triple check all and any connections 8. When it gets running, assume it will break at anytime. For first week ride with stereo off and windows down. Check under it once a day to look for leaks, anything out of ordinary. Check fluid levels, and keep eyes on temp and oil guages. 9. If something is not right, don't drive, it will make it worse. Fix it, that's why you set aside so much time for it. 10. Don't get all boost happy right a away, ease into it, make sure it runs right before you start stuffing air down it's thoat. This may sound like common sense, but it's not to some people.
