| Hello, I need you guys to help me to make a decision. I have done my auto to 5-speed conversion last summer. The 5-speed tranny I used for my conversion is from a 1992 TT which has 200000 kilometer on it. I paid 500 CAN to get it and another 1500 CAN to rebuild it and another 1000 CAN for cryogenic treatment for all the metal component. It cost me totally 3000 CAN which is almost the same price of a brand new tranny. Everything works good now. I have a friend who works in a local nissan dealer as a part specialist. when I was doing my conversion I asked him for a new tranny and he told me it would cost 3000CAN + 15% Tax. Then I chose to rebuild the used one, since I have already spent a lot for my conversion. Few days a go, he called me and told me that a guy ordered a new 5 speed tranny and cancelled his order after the tranny is shiped. And if I want it, I can get it only for 2000 CAN(since the guy paid 1000 CAN deposit before). And I really want to buy it. No reason, just want a new one or keep it for spare, whatever. I just want to buy it. My girl friend said I am out of my mind, I do not know. Should I buy it ? Help ! I am crazy, am I ????? I think only you guys can understand my mind !!!
