Message	with too much lash at the tappet? Could be a result of poor oil flow/pressure at the top end of motor causing knock between rocker arm and it's shaft. I wonder if an out of tolerance auto-tensioner would cause this? Definitely worth investgating at this point. I had similar sound after performing a 60k maintenance, pulled everything back off and discovered the new auto-tensioner was about to break off at the pivot bolt, caught it just before it fragmented the motor.
