It must be noted that it appears to be freezing the intake charge just before or just after the air filter. Thus the "frozen" charge would first hit the turbochargers, where the pressure and heat increase would result in an air charge that is no longer at such a low temperature.
You're getting the same effective result as if you were driving on a cold day.
