I am looking for some opinions so here is my situation. I'll be turning 18 in a month, so lets just say I am 18. I am living in New Jersey and I drive a 99 Ford F-150 V6 with an automatic and no backseats or 4wd. Its pretty much the epitamy of suck in a pickup truck, now don't get me wrong trucks are cool but I am a sports car type of person. It kills me because what kind of sports car enthusiast drives that, esspecially when you have friends driving integras and 240sx. A while ago I wanted a TT but gave up on it deciding I couldn't afford it. So I was thinking about buying a celica or an integra but I figured why settle for those when I can get an NA Z and be faster and look a whole hell of a lot better doing it. So I have been working for a while and I managed to save up about 7000 dollars, but my parents are hecklers and won't let me spend more than 4000 because they know I am going to college soon and this thing might need repairs. So I just wanted to know how practical a 2+2 would be for me. I mean this really only comes down to affordability and reliability. I don't mind fixing things but is this going to kill me with repairs? I am confident I can find one in my price range, I only really want t-tops and the auto climate control, maybe leather if I can get it and color is no big deal, I just am not a fan of green in cars. I am pretty confident in my ability to drive RWD, I know what I can and cannot due even though my truck was only 10hp less it was geared much less for acceleration. I know its not a TT and not as fast but I can deal with that, there are very few faster cars at my school and its fast enough for me, I just really want a car that more suits my personality. And I know snow and rain can be a problem, but there is a wrangler in my household I can borrow with 4wd when it gets real bad. Also I forgot to mention I want the 5speed but its ok because the wrangler is a 5speed and I know how to drive stick near perfectly. Also another concern is insurance, I have USAA which is pretty good, and I don't think the Z will hurt me that much but I could be wrong. Wow that was pretty long winded but I just really want to know, is how practical you guys think it would be for me to own this car, I am fairly mechanically and electrically inclined so I don't have to run to a mechanic for everything, I don't need something to race, just something to be decently fast and maybe pop the tops and pick up some chicks down the shore. So with my 4000 spending budget how practical will it be to find a car to fit me and how much will it cost to maintain the things that go wrong with it? Thanks so much in advance, your input really will help me with my decisions. -Kyle
