Message	in that it is a group 5 full synthetic ester base oil, like Redline and Amsoil. (Mobil 1 is a group 4 PAO-based oil, and the rest of the Castrol Syntec line is group 3). Further, it has shown the some of the best wear numbers in many used oil analysis. As for protecting the turbos, it is a considerably thicker oil than the Mobil 1 10W30, even though both are rated as 30 weight oils.
