You can set your boost controller to 12.1234097439 psi, and it will attempt to manipulate the wastegates so that your boost is 12.1234097439 psi, but in the meantime the rpms are increasing, any boost leaks are becoming larger, exhaust gases are increasing in temperature and volume, the dynamic system of your engine is changing rapidly. Due to these factors, most boost controllers can only reliably get within +/-2 psi of the original set value. Furthermore my original post included MBCs which again vary even more greatly than EBCs.
