| I had an exhaust leak at the manifold gasket. My local mechanic replaced the block-to-exhaust manifold gasket for about half what an engine pull would have cost at most shops (~$600 + parts). This was on the driver's side. He seemed to get through the turbos fairly quickly but struggled a little on the manifolds. I already have most of the "engine's already out" mods done and his theory was that while some of the work is more knuckle busting than just pulling the engine, its less stuff he has to touch and be responsible for down the line if there is a problem.
