Before you jump on me to do a search, I've exhausted all my searches on this subject and found a plethora of information on where Wiseco went bad. They then corrected the issue with the help of one or a few individuals who post to this board. I was just considering the Greddy pistons because I could get them as a gift if I wanted them, if I thought it was the route for my project to follow. It would save me some $ in my project. I digress a bit: Originally, I wanted the JWT/Arias pistons with 8.0:1 CR. Apparently, JWT had the pistons developed with equal amounts of silicon blended into the aluminum which was equal to the silicon amount used in the block. This allowed both block and pistons to expand at equal rates--supposedly. This eliminated all piston slap. New JWT/Arias pistons are now completely non-existent anywhere in the world, I even checked in New Zealand :) So, I was stuck on Arias' 9.0:1 CR off-the-shelf pistons and after discussing it with Harry I came to the conclusion that a properly tuned VG30 motor could effectively run well using 9.0:1 CR, JWT 400+ cams, the GT2871R turbo's, Jon Abeler exhaust manifolds, and precise tuning. In fact, it may even be a better street car with that CR as I am hoping it will also become. Fast forward to today. I posted on here looking for the compression ratio of those pistons because I cannot find it. I am drawing a conclusion that Greddy believes if you have to ask what the CR is, they are not for you. Russell, about the Wiseco pistons you mentioned, do you sell many in the 4032 alloy? Or, do most folks opt for the 2618? As I stated earlier, I'm extremely concerned with piston slap when the motor is cold or hot. Opting for the uncoated 4032 alloy, I hope, will eliminate any piston slap when this motor is finished and running. Finally, one reason of going with a larger bore I thought would increase my bottom end torque. Basically making up for any lag resulting from the larger turbo's. If you've read all of this so far, I hope you can give me some insight :) Thanks, Kris
