map was that the GT28RS is a specialty flow turbo. (That is why it has the 'S' on its name. Its surge line is much more broad than the GT2871R-1. Almost as if the RS has a ported shroud.
Due to the physically larger 71mm exducer/41._ _ mm inducer compressor wheel and its actual weight will cause compressor 'bark' when comparing to the GT28RS .64a/r which spools up much sooner (on the compressor map) and it much more friendly for street use. Speaking from a compressor maps point of view.
But lag is overrated, to a degree. There is so many times that a certain pair of turbos are "so ungodly laggy" (so it was talked about anyways) , but once you actually drive the car, one would notice its really not bad at all because RPM's raise fast and if you are already crusing in a gear and downshift, you're usually rigth at peak boost building very quickly.n BUT, I guess I can say the lag is overrated part is my humble opinion.
And Yes, I have basically everything except the new turbos which just haven't arrived yet and some small do-dads like the ARP studs etc. And of course No manifolds yet, but as you know I already have the money saved for them. Please keep me updated with the info on the manifolds.I forgot to add I now have the 60mm throttle bodies as well.. So I am looking at getting some really nice numbers out of this setup. Yes, going from GT28R to the GT2871R-1, build is starting now. Full build. Hopefully done for Zcon, but I would like to have my widebody done in time.. pockets arent so deep this time of year, so who knows... IT WILL BE A FUN PROJECT THOUGH! How is your build going?
