| smaller than the bolt in the center of the broken bolt. Then there is the easy out, Something like a screw thats locks in the opposite direction of the bolt threads so when you turn it backwards it tightends into the bolt hole you drilled as you back out hence removing the broken bolt. There are also what they call "left handed" drill bits which basically drill in reverse. These work quite well if used properly when you get to the bottom of the bolt you go slowly and it will catch the end of the bolt when you start to get thru it and back the bolt out if there not stuck to bad. There are many types of easy-outs made.
