| maybe for an all motor car you would want to keep the piping small for velocity but these are TURBO cars. Last time i checked you want as LITTLE back pressure as possible after the turbine and wastegate. Why do you think so many turbo car's run open downpipe in a real race situation. On my honda i'm running a 2.5" open downpipe that is basically a 90 degree bend right out of the turbine and straight down for about 12" It's not even that loud just puttering around, but once boost comes in it makes some orgasmic noises; especially under an overpass :D Anyway whoever said 2.5" works better was trying to sell you some bullshit product or just didnt know any better. Except for maybe some minor fitment issues* I dont see any reson why you would NOT want to run a 3" exhaust, the less restriction the better. I know for a fact pipe doesn't cost a whole lot more than 2.5" and its just as easy to bend or buy bends. * doesn't seem like ash's exhaust gets in the way of anything.
