I finally have made some more progress (six months later). Some of you may remember my earlier posts... 1st post 2nd postI have been spending all my spare time working on this. I finished machining the TBs and now I am ready to have them welded to the aluminum plates. I took off 1" of length and then removed the taper at the intake port side to keep the diameter as large as possible. I made a quick jig to keep all the TBs in line during the welding process. 
Here you can see where I machined the TBs. The ramains of the injector pocket will be welded shut and then ground smooth.

 Test fitting everything together before welding. The linkages will eventually occupy the space where the alignment jig is sitting.
 The top 1/4" plate will be the inner wall for the plenum on one side. The bottom 3/8" plate will be welded to the modified upper manifold.
