| You can adjust the angle of the screwdriver as required... but from the look of the photo, unless your seal is REALLY recessed in their (i.e. installed improperly) there is always enough "meat" of the seal to put the screwdriver against... I'm not talking having the screwdriver perpendicular to the seal, I'm talking parallel to its face... Hopefully this will make it clearer... 
All you need to do is catch the outer edge of the seal (where there is "metal" giving it its ridgity). I hope that clears it up... please excuse the remedial drawing and picture quality... whipped it up and took a picture with my camera phone...
