Message Grab a flat head screw driver (I normally choose a small to "average" sized one). Place it on the outer ridge (not the inner as you've been doing), positioning it almost flat against the engine pointing toward the center with just a slight angle so it's actually pointed into the seal and hit it with a hammer and BEND the seal in at that point (which helps to unseat the seal). Then just lightly push the screwdriver in between the outer surround and the seal and pop it out from the OUTSIDE (not the inside as you're doing, which is not where it seats). I've never had a problem getting it out or scratching the surface of the surround... done it more times than I can remember... never had a problem. And if it won't come out easily, just bend it on the other side or somewhere else to unseat it in other areas... almost falls out at that point... =/ Not sure why you're going at it from the inside... do you take cam seals out that way too? [eek] =/
