Because I seriously doubt you will be able to swallow your pride and willingly settle for a beater. If you already have your heart set on a Z32, then you likely are wanting something that will be cool. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that is a priority for you. The best way for you to have a cool ass car and not be way in over your head, IMO, is for you to get a 240SX. They are cool cars. And FAR more suited for a teenager than a Z32. There are tons of them to choose from, convertibles, hatchbacks, coupes, almost 10 model years. And there are certain to be some pretty damn nice ones for less than 10k that are around the `95 model year (first year of my personal favorites). They can be relatively easily modded, as far as I know theres plenty of bolt-ons for them, and you will learn a ton about modding cars. PLUS it is the only car in its class with rear wheel drive, so you will learn about the dynamics of rear wheel drive, which is a plus given your age and where you want to be. Your insurance shouldnt be as bad as a Z, though it will still be really high. But you will save lots of money, still have a cool car, and be on the right path to getting what you want with the education you need to get it right. Buying a Z with no knowledge of what you are doing is asking for major trouble.
