Message not sure how many of you have one of these cards and 6 speakers to go with it, but the capabilities of the card are incredible. DSP functions include all the soundfield tuning capabilities for spacial tuing, parametric EQ, and some other somewhat impractical effects, but the SBLive was the #1 reason to install a computer into my truck. WAAAY back in the day Yamaha was one of the first with an automotive DSP device, the YDSP-1. I had one of these original units, which was incredibly expensive, but well worth the money. I ended up toasting it during a bucket-seat install in my truck as the brain for it was under the driver's seat. Listening to any other automotive sound system was like trying to get HiFi out of a single speaker tape recorder box from then on out..

A buddy of mine bought a PC and it had one of the original SBLive cards in it and he called me and told me I had to get over to his house to checkout this new soundcard's features (he knew all about the YDSP-1 and how I had been looking for another one or something with the same capabilities for the previous two years after damaging my original).

I had a failing laptop at the time, but the display was still good, and when I saw what that card is capable of, the wheels started turning. 6 months later, I had a complete carputer setup in my truck with DSP functions 10X better than what the YDSP-1 had.

This is the one single-most important component in the entire setup - I have no head unit - the SBLive outputs are directly coupled to the amplifier inputs. Although the system is very capable of cranking out the SPL, I'm 90% SQL. :)
